eBoys: The True Story of the Six
Tall Men Who Backed eBay, Webvan and other Billion-Dollar
Start-Ups

I read eBoys at an interesting time. The stark juxtaposition of a chronicle of the heady Internet boom days with today's economic downturn cast Stross' narrative into an especially interesting light. Stross does a good job capturing many of the things which are so frustrating about venture capital and start-ups, while at the same time depicting the sense of possibility and crusade which companies like eBay embody, and which attracts me to the Internet. I'd definitely recommend it.
