The
Bourne Identity
by Robert Ludlum
Completed July 2002
Jason Bourne wakes up to
discover that he doesn’t know who he is. And with that, we’re off and running
on a Ludlum thriller. There’s not a lot of intellectual or philosophical depth
here, but there is a good story. The twists and turns are at times a little
hard to track…giving us the same sense as Bourne that we really don’t know who’s
playing who.
For fans / detractors of
the Bourne Identity movie: the book offers a lot more than the movie –
if you’ve only seen the movie, have no fear, the only premise which is really
the same is that Bourne doesn’t know who he is and somebody wants to kill him.
Read the book. It’s much better.
